„Migrantinnenorganisationen – ein Raum für Empowerment“

Am 27. und 28. September 2014 findet die Konferenz „Migrantinnenorganisationen – ein Raum für Empowerment“ in Köln statt. Im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung steht die Gründung des ersten bundesweiten und herkunftsunabhängigen Dachverbandes der Migrantinnenorganisationen, DaMigra. Der Dachverband der Migrantinnenorganisationen wird für die rechtliche, politische und gesellschaftliche Gleichstellung von Migrantinnen und ihrer Organisationen eintreten. Für Politik, Medien und Öffentlichkeit wird er zudem als Ansprechpartner in Bezug auf migrations- und frauenspezifische Belange fungieren. Migrantinnenorganisationen in Deutschland sind heterogen und in diversen Bereichen aktiv. Dennoch haben sie alle ein gemeinsames Ziel: Die gleichberechtigte Teilhabe von Migrantinnen in Deutschland. Als Dachverband der Migrantinnenorganisationen verfolgen wir als oberste Priorität, Menschen- und Bürgerrechte für Migrantinnen durchzusetzen. Das Rahmenprogramm wird den Teilnehmerinnen darüber hinaus Raum zu spannenden politischen Diskussionen, Austausch und Vernetzung bieten.

But what is the situation really? And more important – What does the Community think?
The mainstream media mostly victimizes the African and People of Color Communities by making their input into society invisible!
